Jackie Robinson’s cards are as electrifying as he was on the field. The Dodger great’s feat of breaking baseball’s color barrier was ranked by several news services as the single most important event of the 20th century. This 1948 Leaf stands as an enduring image of not only a baseball hero, but a societal hero as well. At a VG 3, this Robinson has been well loved, but not mistreated. The card’s borders and backgrounds show honest signs of handling, with slight discolorations apparent to the eye, but for a card of this age. Any Robinson card from the early days is a treasure . . . and this card demands respect. The card shows a slight left-to-right and top-to-bottom offset along with handling to result in a VG grade, along with handling and some residue apparent.
