When wrestling rivaled boxing in the public spotlight, Big Jim Browning was the king of the heavyweight world. In what is considered one of the greatest bouts of all time, Jim Londos stripped Browning of the champion’s purple robe in a grueling 1-hour, 10-minute, 10-second match. Just two years later, after returning to form in the ring, Browning died unexpectedly of a pulmonary embolism.
